Logo Design: Lynn E O’Connacht
Welcome to the brand spanking new logo for author, editor and book blogger, Lynn E O’Connacht! Lynn wanted a natural-looking logo inspired by the beautiful watercolour paintings she uses for her book covers. Working closely with her, I took her love of swirls and circles to create a number of hand-drawn concepts, which we then worked to refine. Like me, Lynn loves a touch of the real, in the textures and hand-drawn feel of the lines.
The logo had to work alongside Lynn’s sub-brands–Dovelet Books, Dovelet Editing and her blog, Little Lion Lynnet’s. I developed a neat, handwritten-looking text to fit neatly beside the main logo, then linked the two with the little bird motif.
Anna is an amazingly talented and passionate designer. She has an excellent eye for typography, detail and style, but most importantly she is able to take vague ideas and turn them into an elegant and timeless design that captures the playfulness and femininity that I wanted to convey.
‘Birdie’ says hi! Lynn fell in love with it so much I just had to make its own file!
